Feed source pathogens impact livestock productivity, profitability and human food safety. Livestock producers increasingly specify microbial quality standards for feed, and feed ingredient manufacturers and millers implement strategies to mitigate risk of viruses and bacteria including Salmonella transmitting via feed.
