Press Release: Anitox Introduces AvrX™Prime™ to Support Early-Stage Nutrition Strategies and Performance Consistency in Broilers

Building on decades of expertise in clean feed and feed biosecurity, Anitox is expanding its poultry portfolio with the launch of AvrX™Prime™, a new monoglyceride technology developed to support early-stage nutrition strategies and performance consistency in broiler production. 

Unveiling at World’s Poultry Congress and Poultry Science Association Annual Meeting in Toronto, AvrX™Prime™ expands the Anitox poultry portfolio beyond feed quality and microbial control, adding a nutritional approach formulated to work in the gastrointestinal environment from the earliest stages of life.

Maintaining feed conversion, flock uniformity and growth performance remains a priority for broiler producers operating in increasingly complex production environments. Continued movement toward antibiotic-free production, enteric disease pressure and feed-cost volatility have increased the importance of maintaining performance under commercial conditions.

According to Dr. Alastair Thomas, Global Head of Poultry Nutrition & Health at Anitox, growing industry interest in intestinal development reflects a broader shift in how producers think about performance.

AvrX™Prime™ combines short- and medium-chain monoglycerides in a proprietary blend designed for use in poultry nutrition programs focusing on gastrointestinal conditions. Unlike traditional organic-acid approaches, monoglycerides remain active across a wider range of gut pH conditions, allowing support for intestinal function throughout more of the digestive tract.

Recent transcriptomic research conducted during the development of AvrX™Prime™ provided new insight into how intestinal function evolves over time. The research identified age-dependent responses associated with intestinal development, host-microbiome signaling, nutrient transport and metabolic activity, helping explain how early intestinal function may influence later production outcomes.

“Historically, gut-health technologies have often been evaluated through performance outcomes alone,” says Thomas. “What excites us about this work is the opportunity to better understand the processes that contribute to those outcomes and how supporting intestinal resilience early may influence nutrient utilization later in life.”
